Who We Are
John 3:16 Mission is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit church (unaffiliated with any denomination) that was founded in 1952 to share the Gospel with Tulsa’s hungry, homeless, and at-risk people while meeting their immediate physical needs for food, shelter, clothing, and safety.
The Mission is funded solely with donations from supporters (individuals, companies, foundations, churches, etc.) in the Tulsa community and beyond. This allows John 3:16 Mission to share the Gospel and administer Christ-centered relief and recovery programs in the best ways we know how without government interference.
The Mission adheres to the highest standards of quality of care, treating each person or client, regardless of race, gender, creed or faith background, with dignity and respect.
John 3:16 Mission also is a member of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM), a large group of other North American missions that similar aims and objectives.
At its heart, John 3:16 Mission is about showing Biblical hospitality, restorative care, generosity, and above all, love to those whom Christ called “the least of these…my brothers and sisters” (Matthew 25:35).
