On March 16, the John 3:16 Mission came together with staff and volunteers to hosts its annual “Everybody’s Birthday” celebration at the Downtown Shelter. “Everybody’s Birthday” is all about honoring our unsheltered neighbors, many of whom haven’t had the chance to feel celebrated on their special day. With help from Andolini’s, who generously donated more than $1,000 worth of pizza, guests enjoyed a fun, relaxed party filled with good food, cake and ice cream, and plenty of smiles.
Along with the celebration, our guests received every day essentials like water bottles, socks, and duffle bags. There were also door prizes like backpacks and bicycles given away as well. Moments like these are a reminder of what it looks like to show up for one another, bringing hope, care, and a sense of belonging to people who need it most.
