The outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought unprecedented changes and disruption to all our lives. John 3:16 Mission wants you to know that it remains open and committed to serving the homeless and hungry of our community for the duration of the crisis. As of April 13, there have been no known cases of COVID-19 at the Mission, but we are monitoring the situation closely.
We can only carry on this work with YOUR support.
The Mission is taking strong measures to prevent/limit the spread of the virus in our facilities and among the vulnerable people we serve. Some of these measures include new sanitation stations, increased spacing during meal times and other activities, regular cleaning of surfaces and bedding, etc. We are coordinating closely with city officials and the health department, as well as other shelters and service providers to make sure best practices are followed.
John 3:16 Mission will continue to provide the best-in-class meals and shelter to our homeless brothers and sisters in addition to showing them that Christ’s compassion, love and healing power apply all the time, but even more so during a crisis. In the meantime, please pray for the Mission, its clients, staff and volunteers. To serve, we, and they, must remain healthy. We will be praying for you, too, during these challenging times.
Additionally, given the economic fallout from the outbreak, donations are likely to decline dramatically as people stay home or are laid off. If you have spare capacity and would like to help, please call 918-587-1186. Or make a quick donation by clicking the RED DONATE button on this page. God bless and stay safe!
